This is in reference to last night's city council meeting. I'd ask that you please forward this email to the mayor and councilors as well.
My colleagues and I have been advocating for individual liberties and have been before several councils and commissions in that regard.
After the meeting, Mr. Taylor and I were absolutely stunned at the fact that we we're well received on this particular issue, which in fact, didn't fall on deaf ears; that which we've experienced elsewhere many times in the past. The relaxed atmosphere and hospitality made made all the difference and was very much appreciated.
We commend the entire council for honoring their oaths to support and defend the U.S. and Oregon Constitutions. The other venues within Coos County could take a lesson from the City of Myrtle Point on how to defend the rights of those they represent.
We'd certainly encourage you to notify the League of Oregon Cities and the Oregon State Legislature of your staunch position on our 2A right that shall not be infringed.
Should we be of further assistance, feel free to contact us. In closing, I remain...
Sincerely yours,
Tom McKirgan
