The Supreme Court’s Obamacare Ruling: What Does It All Mean?
In a complex decision, the Supreme Court has ruled that the individual mandate component of the Patient

OFF ALERT 06.29.12

Eric Holder Held In Contempt of Congress.
How Did Your Representative Vote?

Eric Holder, the Attorney General who has been lying to Congress to cover up information about the Obama administrations scheme to smuggle guns to Mexican drug gangs has been held in contempt of Congress.  The Brady Campaign and many Democratic politicians have actually been defending this murderous scheme.

You may recall that some time ago Obama informed the Brady Campaign the he was working on gun control under the radar. Now its clear what he meant.

But how did your member of Congress vote?

Every single Democratic Oregon Congressman voted to protect the lying Attorney General whose policies have cost countless lives, including Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and scores of Mexican civilians.  The entire purpose of this scheme was to boost the number of American guns confiscated from Mexican crime scenes in order to implement more restrictions on law-abiding American gun owners.

NRA-endorsed Congressman Kurt Schrader of Oregons 5th Congressional District, voted with three other Oregon Democrats to protect Holder.

On Reason TV, Andrew Ferguson Discusses the Parasite Economy of Washington, DC

Back in February, I posted this startling map showing that 10 of America’s 15-richest counties are the bedroom communities surrounding Washington, DC.

There’s a lot of money in Washington because federal bureaucrats are wildly overpaid, as I document in this video, and also because there is a huge shadow workforce of contractors, consultants, and lobbyists who have their snouts buried deeply in the public
trough.

In an interview for Reason TV, Andy Ferguson talks about how these well-paid
parasites have created a bubble economy in Washington.

CD4 Shananigans‏

6/25/2012

Open letter to Allen Alley, Solomon Yue, and Terri Moffett of the ORP.

I am appalled, disgusted, and ashamed to consider myself a Republican after the shenanigans displayed Saturrday at the 4thCongressional District’s Convention held in Roseburg. Not only were we, the duly elected representatives of our precincts, lied to, we were stolen from as well!

Towards the end of the allotted time for our convention (scheduled to adjourn at 5PM), we were given a choice to speed the votes along,  or wait and finish up according to the rules of the ORP. After a passionate  speech by Jeffrey Osanka, explaining that the rules are in place for a reason, we voted to remain at UCC until our business was appropriately concluded.

We continued voting for District Officers and were told we were waiting for the rest of the State’s votes to be counted in order to move forward to the 3rd ballot for at-large alternate delegates to the RNC in Tampa.

After the ballots were collected, we waited a little while for the results of the district officers. At approximately 5:30PM, we were told that all the other Districts in the State of Oregon had shut down and there was no further business we could conduct. A motion to adjourn was introduced.

Most of us in attendance were stunned! How could we possibly adjourn when we still had 2 more rounds of voting to complete? After much outcry from the crowd, a motion was introduced for District 4 to continue voting irrespective of the rest of the State. The motion passed. Then we were informed that our votes may not even be counted since the other Districts had shut down. We did not care. We came to make our voices heard and decided to continue to vote on.

Next, we find out that the ballots are gone! OK, fine. We are at a college. We can find blank paper and hand write the names of our chosen delegates. Come to find out not just the blank ballots are gone, but the completed ballots with all of our previous votes have been taken by Terri Moffett of the ORP.

I was in shock! How dare she take our ballots when we  are still in session? Who gave her the right to remove those votes? I stood up and asked Fred Dayton, Jr. Vice-Chair of CD4, “Under whose authority did she take our ballots?” Fred answered that she is the liaison to CD4 from the ORP and that her boss told her to take the ballots. I then asked Fred a follow-up question, “Who is her boss?” His answer was, “Allen Alley.” I thanked Fred and sat down.

Then the anger really began. Again, the room erupted in outrage! How dare Mr. Alley instruct Ms. Moffett, his employee, to remove our ballots when we were not done voting? Who gave him the right to attempt to silence the PCPs of CD4?

Wait, it gets better…

Previously we were told that all the other Districts had shut down around 5PM. This was not the case. Thanks to the modern technologies of smart phones, wireless internet, and Facebook, we found out that CD2 had not shut down. They were still voting.

Moments later, our ballots were back. Hmm…

Even though we did not have the results from the rest of the Districts, we voted our 3rd ballot… and waited, and waited, and waited… We found out that CD5 had resumed their convention. Another hmm… We waited until after 7:30PM for the tellers to count our votes.

Finally, the votes were counted and we moved on to selecting our 4th District Alternates. The votes were counted and results announced after 8:30PM.

I am wondering why a convention that was supposed to take 8 hours was stalled and made to run over 3 hours longer than anticipated. I am wondering why we were lied to about the other Districts shutting down in order to attempt to prevent us from voting. I am wondering why our ballots were taken away (cast and blank) before we were adjourned. I am wondering why you attempted to steal our voices by taking away our opportunity to vote for the delegates of our choice.

Furthermore, I am wondering if the votes we cast before 5PM are going to count. We rightfully and according to the rules of the ORP selected at-large delegates and district delegates, along with presidential electors before we were told the other Districts had shut down. What happens now to those people who we selected to go to Tampa?

If any of you would like to respond to my inquiry, I’m waiting…

Sincerely,
Sharlyn

Two numbers for PERS members to keep in mind

Two numbers for PERS members to keep in mind
http://www.statesmanjournal.com/article/20120625/COLUMN0105/306250020/1064?nclick_check=1
Oregon PERS members, there are two numbers you should keep in mind during the next couple of years: 6 percent and 8 percent.

These percentages are going to be key to some major arguments that will crop up over Oregon’s public pension system.

The 6 percent refers, of course, to the employee contribution to PERS required under Oregon law. It also refers to the practice known as the “pick-up,” in which the public employer can agree to pay that contribution on behalf of its workers, usually in lieu of a raise.

The 8 percent refers to the assumed rate of return that PERS uses in its budgeting. In other words, PERS expects to earn an average 8 percent on its multi-billion-dollar pension fund, over time.

CG912Project Members and Friends,

Erosion of our Property Rights and Agenda 21 in Action, Part III
The I Spy Radio Show
Saturday, 11a.m.-noon (West Coast time).
Listen live on KYKN (1430-AM) or, if you’re outside of the Salem (Oregon) listening area,
go to http://www.kykn.com/ and hit the listen live button.

Guests: Bonnie Montoya-May & Sharon Waterman, Property Owners in Coos County, Oregon

This week: The more you dig into the environmental movement, the less it seems to have anything at all to do with
nature. What started as a legitimate movement to conserve and protect natural areas—especially during a time when our society was rapidly expanding and not thinking much about the environment—has grown into a movement that cares more about the green of dollar bills than the green of nature.

This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we take you to Coos County, Oregon, which is under assault by the environmental movement, including such saintly groups as the Nature Conservancy, which uses the same sort of market schemes for land swaps that has turned carbon credits into a multi-billion dollar industry.  Working
with state and federal agencies, they’re slowly snapping up land to put it off limits. We talk about Agenda 21, but here it is in action.

If you missed Parts I and II with Dr. Michael Coffman, creator of the famous Wildlands Map you can download those shows for free on our archives page at http://www.ispyradio.com/.

That’s Saturday, 11 to noon, West Coast time on the I Spy Radio Show. Join us as we get a little more intelligence on Big Government.

Have you heard our very popular “I Spy Minute,” aired weekdays at 10:00 a.m. during KYKN’s peak listenership? We’re looking for personal and corporate sponsorships to help keep these educational and informative minutes on the air. Are you a business owner (or know one) that would like “prime real estate” to advertise? We have two :30 ad spots following the I Spy Minute available, but you need to contact karla@ispyonsalem.com  or marcia@ispyonsalem.com to take advantage of these.

The show will be aired on KYKN(1430-AM), this Saturday at 11:00 a.m., West Coast time.  If you’re outside of the Salem listening area, just go to http://www.kykn.com/ and hit the listen live button.  Busy on Saturday?  Not a problem.  After the show airs, you can go to our webpage http://www.ispyonsalem.com/ and download it from our
“past shows” page.

RMP's for Western Oregon

6/22/2012

CG912Project Members and friends,

RMPs for Western  Oregon
The  BLM Oregon is initiating a resource management plan (RMP) revisions which will provide goals, objectives, and direction for the management of approximately 2.6  million acres of BLM-administered lands in western  Oregon.

Having attended the Eugene BLM meeting, it is clear that the intent is NOT Forest Management for Timber Harvest, but for the  Protection of the Spotted Owl and Forest Management for Climate  change. I remember when they used to manage and prepare for next years weather,  not if it is going to be warmer or cooler in 100 years. 'useful  idiots'.

I ask the question, where are the Foresters?

The O&C Act of 1937 set aside approximately 2.4 million acres of federally-owned  forest lands in 18 western Oregon counties for the economic benefit of those  counties.
According to USFS records the volume of timber harvested, measured in thousands of board feet (mbf) on USFS
lands has declined from a peak harvest in 1973 of 5,791,353 mbf to 1,126,867 mbf in 1994 to 419,381 mbf in 2007.

I encourage my fellow Oregonians to take the time to respond,  share you story how the decline in the lack of managing the Forest for  timber harvest has affected you and your family.

Get the facts on the Endangered Species Act (ESA)

6/22/2012

Comments

Signed into law in 1973, the goal of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was to preserve, protect and recover key domestic species. However, today the law is failing to achieve its primary purpose of species recovery and instead has become a tool  for litigation that drains resources away from real recovery efforts and blocks job-creating economic activities.

It has been 23 years since Congress has reauthorized or made any significant, responsible improvements to the Endangered Species Act to ensure that it works for both species and people. After more than two decades, the ESA should be modernized and updated to once again focus the law on true species recovery.

Get the Facts:
In the United States, 1,383 species are listed under the ESA: 5828 animals and 795 plants.

Of the domestic species protected by the ESA, the Fish and Wildlife Service has declared only 20 species recovered. This represents a 1 percent recovery  rate.

According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the average cost for the recovery of an endangered species is $15.9 million. The average cost of a complete listing decision is $85,000.

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has designated 97.8 million acres and 40,000 miles of coastal rivers and streams as “critical habitat” for 603 listed species. The cost of a single designation of critical habitat is $515,000.

In the past ten years, Congress has appropriated $1.4 billion to the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service to conduct ESA activities including listing, consultation and recovery efforts and $174.3 million to the National Marine Fisheries
Service to undertake ESA related activities.

In July 2011 the Interior Department agreed to a settlement that covered 779 species in 85 lawsuits and legal actions. Information obtained from agencies indicates that they have a combined total of over 180 pending ESA-related
  lawsuits.

According to the Washington Post, “In fiscal 2010, the Fish and Wildlife Service spent so much of its $21 million listing budget on litigation and responding to petitions that it had almost no money to devote to placing new species under federal protection, according to agency officials.”

Response to a Letter to Editor about the Bandon Marsh

6/21/2012

Comments

Here is a very educated response to this letter to the editor written back in March about the Bandon Marsh.
Read more: http://theworldlink.com/news/opinion/mailbag/marsh-expansion-brings-benefits/article_d3bfaf3f-5223-51a1-979f-7cad9d821971.html#ixzz1tD3lsr48

Rob,

Sorry I didn't get back to you right away; just checked my  email a few moments ago.  I don't know the particulars re: the NYC Catskill  Watershed project, but on the face of it it's a proposterous comparison.   Yes, watersheds and freshwater/salt marshes are known to remove minerals,  organic molecules and certain bacteria  that in concentrations of  concern would make water unfit for human consumption.  But no one is  proposing to drink from the Coquille River, and as far as I know there are no  minerals/compounds that are currently at levels of concern in the Coquille (and  this includes pesticides and herbicides) that would harm fish and  wildlife. The coloform levels may be high, but that may not be due to human  septic systems or livestock, which means you could do the marsh restoration and  the coloform count might not change and would likely go up because of  the increased numbers of rodents, beavers,
mustelids.... that would be crapping  in the water.

Her argument about off-channel refuges for fish could be accomplished w/o converting the entire lower valley (i.e. just make a  few such areas at strategic points along the river).  Again, salmon  production could be increased an order of magnitude just by using  hatchboxes and killing Double-crested Cormorants (Note: I counted 150+ in a  tidal eddy on the Coquille R. near the confluence of Seven Mile Cr. just  Wednesday.  When the smolts start to run over the next couple of weeks  these birds will decimate their numbers.).   And by the way if the converted  land is contributing $6,000/acre/yr in "services", then shouldn't the  land owners be offered at least $12,000/acre for their places instead  of <$1,000/acre?  Of course this will never happen because the very  agencies/enviro groups so eager to purchase these farms are the very same  ones that have promulgated so many rules and regulations on these folks the land  is now next to worthless for agriculture which will be reflected in the buyer's  offer.

The last piece of bullshit in this letter was the claim  that birders and other ecotourists will bring in big bucks to the area.   This is such hogwash it's hardly worth addressing.

Hope this will be of some help,

Dan

Sign the Audit the Fed petition

6/21/2012

Comments

Rob--

Yesterday, the Fed announced it will create $267 million with the press of a button in yet another soon-to-be failed attempt to "stimulate the economy by keeping interest rates artificially low."

That’s why it’s more vital than ever you  sign your Audit the Fed petition right away, if you haven’t already.
The word on Capitol Hill is that a committee vote on this legislation could occur next week!

So click here to sign your petition if you have not already done so.

In addition, I ask that you forward this petition to your friends and contacts.

Over the past week, C4L has collected over 50,000 petitions from grassroots activists demanding
transparency and accountability at the Fed.

Our best chance to push Audit the Fed through without it being watered down is to demonstrate the overwhelming outrage across America to the Fed’s secrecy and manipulation of our economy.

So please, pass the word along that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee must
pass a clean version of Audit the Fed by forwarding this email on to all of your friends.

                     In Liberty,
                     Teri

They just keep spending, ANOTHER FARM BILL

6/20/2012

They just keep spending.

Apparently unfazed by the spending-driven crisis in Europe and our $16 trillion debt here at home, the U.S. Senate is actually considering whether to spend a trillion dollars over the next ten years on the so-called Farm Bill.

In 2008, the country spent $51 billion on these programs and by 2011 it had almost doubled to $98 billion. Somehow the bill’s lead sponsor (Senator Stabenow from Michigan) has the audacity to claim $23 billion in deficit
reduction over ten years. As AFP Policy Analyst Christine Harbin wrote, “Lawmakers are now patting themselves on the back for locking in those huge increases and then cutting a little bit around the edges.”

Take Action Today and Urge your Senator to Vote NO on this Bloated Spending Bill!

What’s worse, this whole package is masquerading through Congress under the guise of being a Farm Bill. But in 2011 almost 80% of the funding went to food stamps and other supplemental nutrition programs. With less than a quarter of the spending in this bill actually going to farm programs, perhaps it would be more appropriate to call this the Food Stamps Bill.

The bill also claims to end direct payments to crop producers but it puts in a whole new program called “shallow
loss
” where Congress guarantees big agribusinesses’  revenues will never fall below 90% of their average revenues over the last five years. If a crop has a bad year or if prices fall, Uncle Sam is there to make up the difference. It’s a guaranteed minimum income and it’s just as bad as direct  payments.

 AFP has issued a key vote letter in support of four amendments as the Senate considers changes to the bill;

Take Action Today and Urge your Senator to Vote NO on this Bloated Spending Bill!

Advisory Vote for The Bandon Marsh Expansion

6/20/2012

Comments

Hey Everyone,

We have great news.

At a county BOC meeting in March we were able to get the county’s Board of Commissioners to pass a Resolution against the Bandon Marsh Expansion, which was a good victory. Well, in the last county meeting we were able to convince the commissioners to put that question up for an advisory vote for this November’s general election. Now, the people of Coos County will get to show their support for the farmers, ranchers, and property owners living inside the intended expansion area and for the economy of the surrounding area.

BELOW ARE FILES OF THE RESOLUTION AND THE ADVISORY QUESTION:

Myth of Perpetual Growth is killing America Commentary: Everything you know about economics is wrong
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/myth-of-perpetual-growth-is-killing-america-2012-06-12?siteid=nwhwk

The difference is that the economic profession is a genuine threat, not  entertainment. Economics dogma is on track to destroy the world with a  misleading ideology.

Why? Because all economics is based on the absurd Myth of Perpetual Growth.
Yes, all theories and business plans based on growth are
mythological.

Urgent, Urgent, Urgent, House May Cave On LWCF. Call Now.

Urgent, Urgent, Urgent, House May Cave On LWCF. Call Now.

The Senate & House have been Deadlocked Over LWCF Highway Bill Funds.
It looks like the House is beginning to cave.

That battle has now turned into funding a CARA like Trust Fund. The Greens want to set a precedent for these funds so the LWCF gets over $1 Billion dollars every year, automatically, off budget. That will be the death of rural America.

*Action Items: (The LWCF is a huge issue that threatens you).**
-----1. Please forward this message out quickly to at least 10 other people. Your whole list if possible.

-----2.. Call, fax and e-mail your Congressman. Deluge him or her with calls to stop the LWCF Funding. Call any Congressman at (202) 225-3121. Focus especially on the Congressmen on the LWCF Highway Bill Conference Committee and the House leadership listed below.

-----3. Call, fax and e-mail any Congressman or Senator from your state who is on the Conference Committee.

-----4.  Call the leadership in the House. Make sure they know that if the House lets you down on the LWCF, you will remember in November.

We've listed their numbers below. Make sure they know that Republicans will not be given immunity on the LWCF issue. If they sell you out, you will remember.

-----5. Deluge the Speaker of the House John Boehner at (202)225-0600 or the Capital Switchboard at (202) 225-3121.

Urge him to oppose any LWCF funds in the Highway Bill Conference Committee. .
E-mail  Boehner at: -- bill.greene@mail.house.gov

-----6. Call,  fax and e-mail the offices of other House Leaders:
Rep. Eric Cantor  House, Majority Leader (202) 225-4000
Fax: (202) 226-1115. E-mails: steve.stombres@mail.house.gov
neil.Bradley@mail.house.gov

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, House Majority Whip (202) 225-0197
Fax: (202) 225-0781 E-mails: brian.worth@mail.house.gov
Natalie.Buchanan@mail.house.gov

-----7.  Call both your Senators. Call any Senator at (202) 224-3121.
Tell them the same thing. Pay special attention to the Senators on the Conference Committee. We've shown which Republicans sold you out by voting for the LWCF amendment.

-----8. Call your friends, neighbors and business associates.  Get them to call, fax and e-mail your Congressman and Senators.

Who will win? Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and the Greens are fighting hard for the giant land acquisition LWCF trust fund.

The House is fighting back.  But they are staring to cave in. They need to know you support them as they hold firm against the pressure from the Senate.

You are making history but you must keep up the pressure. This battle will likely go to the end of June or even beyond. But the LWCF part of the battle is raging now and will be decided shortly. Your calls, faxes and e-mails are
critical now.

Keep calling at least two or three members of the Highway Bill conference committee every day.

Your Time Is Now, Make History, Stop LWCF Highway Bill Funds

-----The Greens are going all out. They are calling every day. If you fail to call, fax and e-mail your Senators and
Congressmen, you will lose.

You must call, fax and e-mail your Congressman and both Senators.

PLUS, PLUS, PLUS The Members of the Conference Committee listed below.

-----If the Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service and BLM get the EXTRA $1.4 Billion Dollars over their normal appropriations over the next two years the greens are going for, no community will be safe. Land acquisition will go crazy.  The Greens want to use this as a precedent for spending every year.

-----No Trust Fund -- Don't allow the Greens to create a huge land acquisition trust fund that threatens rural America. Congress needs to cut the deficit and the debt, not buy private land and turn it into Federal land.

-----The Greens plan to use the huge trust fund money now in the Senate version of the LWCF Highway bill as a precedent to increase the amount of money Congress gives the LWCF EVERY YEAR. They want to make it a
Trust Fund like CARA. Don't let it happen.

Don't let down. Call, Fax and e-mail at least once a day.

The LWCF funds are taken right from the taxpayer. The 1.4 billion dollars comes right out of your pocket.

-----The "willing buyer, willing seller procedure of acquiring land touted by park officials is 'meaningless' and a more proactive method is generally used," said William Kriz, chief of Land Acquisition for the Park Service, in an article in the Concord Journal  (Massachusetts) in 1988.

You may also mail a check for $35 ($25 if you are a first time member) to American Land Rights, PO Box 400, Battle Ground, WA 98604.  Many people send larger gifts. They just do what they can. ALRA is working hard to keep you informed. E-mail is not that expensive but ALRA  also sends tens of thousands of faxes and letters to alert your allies and  friends about your issues. In addition we maintain a full time office and  staff to serve our members and allies. Your support at this critical time would be appreciated.

Stop The LWCF
Highway Bill Land Grab, Go To
www.landrights.org
for more details.
* **Keep calling until June 30th.*

It could go beyond  that. We'll keep you informed. Call any Senator at (202) 224-3121. Call any  Congressman at (202) 225-3121. You must make his or her phone come off the  hook.

No land acquisition funds (LWCF) should be included in the Highway Bill.

The LWCF is a constant attack on Rural America. It is the attempt by the greens to drive rural people out of their homes and into the  cities.

You do not want the Park Service, Forest Service, Fish and  Wildlife Service and BLM to get these billions of dollars to buy millions of acres of private land and convert it to government ownership.

The land acquisition funding (LWCF) in the Senate Highway Bill threatens all private property owners, ranchers, farmers, miners, forestry and other users of both private as well as Federal land.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - You must bury these Conferees with calls, faxes and e-mails. We've listed an e-mail address for a staff person on the staff of each of the Congressmen and Senators on the Conference
Committee.

For the Senators you can see how they voted on the original LWCF (Land and Water Conservation Fund). Yea means they voted YES. That means if there is a Yea by your Senators name, he or she voted not to protect your. Her or she
voted for a massive expansion of Federal spending to buy private land.

Don't forget when sending to the staff of a Senator that there is an underscore between the first and last names.
