SEE North Bend - Meeting Packet for March 25, 2014 - Look at electronic page 61 - Item 6-43.  [ I have attached pages 6-41 and 6-43 ] Joseph B. McKeown is listed as the Manager - Owner/Owners of the APCO Properties, LLC, where the Jordan Cove workforce housing is being proposed.

I began to wonder if Joseph B McKeown was any relation to Caddy...
YES, TURNS OUT, IT IS HER BROTHER-IN-LAW   ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barbara Bradford McKeown
AUG. 20, 1915 - FEB. 23, 2011 March 5, 2011
A Life Well Lived

Barbara Bradford McKeown, 95, of Coos Bay, was a dedicated community volunteer, wife, mother, and grandmother. She died at her home in Coos Bay Feb. 23, 2011. A service of thanksgiving will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Fourth and Highland, Coos Bay with Father Stephen Tyson officiating.

Barbara was born Aug. 20, 1915, in Augusta City, Wis. She was raised in Eau Claire, Wis., and moved with her family to Coquille in 1933. Shortly after relocating to Oregon she met her future husband, Joseph Arthur McKeown. They were married in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Coos Bay Nov. 12, 1938, and thereafter both continued as staunch and faithful members of the Emmanuel parish and the Coos Bay community.

Barbara's life was notable for her generous and continuous work to improve the community in which she lived. She began her years of service by working with the Boys and Girls Aid Society as a social worker. During this time one of her assignments was to help families relocate in the aftermath of the tragic Bandon fire in September 1936. She also served as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II while her husband, Joe, served on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga in the Sea of Japan.

Organizations to which Barbara gave her time include the Western Bank Board of Directors, The Oregon State Library Board of Trustees, the Oregon Historical Society Board of Trustees, the Coos County Historical Society Board of Directors, the Progress Club, P.E.O. Chapter FM, the Oregon Coast Music Association, and the Coos Art Museum. She also did a great deal of work with the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon, and in 1999 was recognized with a Women Making a Difference award.

Of particular note was Barbara's committed work with the Coos Bay Public Library. She served on the library's board of directors when it became apparent that the organization had outgrown the Carnegie Library building on the corner of Fifth and Market Street. She played a key role in the successful construction of the new Coos Bay Library which was completed in 1966. During the library's 100th anniversary celebration in 2010 Barbara was honored as a Library Living Legend.

Barbara was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed such activities as fly fishing on the Rogue and McKenzie rivers, and hiking and fishing in the Cascades in Central Oregon; activities which she continued into her 90s.

Barbara is survived by her son, Joseph Bradford McKeown and his wife, Xandra Taylor McKeown; her son, Jeffrey Arthur McKeown and his wife, Caddy Hanen McKeown; and her four grandchildren, Bradford, Molly, Steve and Christopher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Arthur McKeown; her mother, Clarissa Cox Bradford; her father, A.E. "Brad" Bradford; and her sisters, Betty and Claire.

Contributions may be sent to South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420; Emmanuel Parish Youth Fund, P.O. Box 1028 Coos Bay, OR 97420; Coos Bay Library Foundation, 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay, OR 97420; Coos County Historical Society, 1220 Sherman Ave., North Bend, OR 97459; Boys and Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon, 3333 Walnut Ave., Coos Bay, OR 09720; or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131.
