This week:
For most people living in Oregon, we know that the federal government owns about 60% of our state, but they also now own over 30% of all U.S. lands. It used to be that if you wanted to harvest the natural resources on those lands in Oregon—like gold mining or logging—they’d at least help you do it. Then that all changed and it became more about locking up the resources rather than accessing them. In fact at one time the federal government was giving away land. Homesteading, was where you were given 160 acres if you could prove up on it. Somehow, we’ve lost all of that and have moved from settling the Wild West to paying 10s of thousands of dollars in fines if you don’t get the right permit.
But how did we end here with the federal government owning up to 60% of Oregon and now over 30% of all U.S. lands, especially when doing so is unconstitutional?
Listen in our Part I of III series as Dr. Michael Coffman, the creator of the famous Wildlands Map that you’ll see on practically any Agenda 21 website, talks about how and why we got here, starting with the 1700s and go right up through to today.
Next week in Part II we continue with Dr. Coffman, as he discusses the outcomes and how it currently impacts us. Then in Part III we go to Coos Bay, Oregon to take a look at the example of how this plays out where local citizens are currently fighting off a major land grab to seize water ways.
That’s tomorrow, 11-noon on the I Spy Radio show. Join us, and get a little more intelligence on big government.
