Just to catch everyone up, the County Board of Commissioners tabled the Bandon Resolution to increase and extend the debt of their Urban Renewal Agency at the last BOC meeting. However, the City of Bandon will be back to seek the commissioners approval for this increase and all of us taxpayers better be ready to take up the challenge of defeating this indebtedness, otherwise our children and grandchildren will inherit the tab.
If you were interested in helping out in the effort to restrict Urban Renewal, then call the County Commissioners and let them know what you think of using our property taxes for private development and costly designer projects. You can stay up-to-date on the next important meeting by going to www.CoosCountyWatchdog.com. Here is the contact information for the commissioners and remember every email counts:
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Bob Main
[email protected]
Commissioner Fred Messerle
[email protected]
Commissioner Cam Parry
[email protected]
And when you are done with your email, pick up the phone and leave a message for the commissioners at 541-396-3121 x 225, but try to talk to the commissioners in person---it makes more of an impact, especially during an Election Year. Remember to tell them to VOTE NO on the Bandon Resolution, or they will get you sidetracked with a fishing story.
