Scott Roberts for State Senate
Coos Bay, OR –Scott Roberts (R-Coos Bay), candidate for State Senator in District 5, has recently been endorsed by Oregon’s leading small business associations. Both the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and the Oregon Small Business Association (OSBA) have thrown their support behind Roberts, agreeing that he is the candidate who will stand up for small businesses on the coast.
“I am thrilled to have the support of Oregon’s small businesses,” said Roberts. “It is the small entrepreneurs that I believe are the key to Oregon’s economic comeback. When Oregon’s small businesses prosper, everyone prospers. I will work hard to advocate for them in the legislature, and to fight against the regulation and high taxes that stand between them and prosperity.”
Roberts believes that empowering small businesses to succeed is crucial to providing living-wage jobs for the coast and funding education and public safety services. As State Senator, Roberts will fight against the high taxes, red tape and regulation that hamstring too many Oregon businesses. Roberts also will work for a more lenient land use system so businesses have the options they need to grow and expand. According to Roberts, controlling government growth is another key to a thriving small business culture.
“I know that Scott Roberts understands first-hand the needs and challenges of successfully running a small business in Oregon,” said Bruce Parry, a small business owner in Coos Bay. “Scott has what it takes to champion Oregon small businesses in the Oregon legislature.”
The National Federation of Independent Business is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of their members to own, operate and grow their businesses.
The Oregon Small Business Association a coalition of small businesses dedicated to promoting a positive business environment through education, research, lobbying and legal action on the federal, state, county and local level.
NFIB and OSBA add to a growing list of state and local endorsements, including Oregonians for Food and Shelter and AG-PAC.
