Subject: FW: OPRD Biota exchange/ Agenda packet
Hello Friends,
OPRD has just released their agenda packet for their next meeting in Salem. The part of the packet that pertains to the Biota exchange makes interesting reading. Somehow the Grouse Mountain property has fallen out of the exchange. It is now to be considered as a separate action. Instead of the actual Grouse Mountain property the Dept. will get cash, placed in an escrow account, they can use toward any other acquisition. A most interesting turn of events.
Thanks,
John

Hi Everyone,
The Parks Department has just released the packet of additional information for the February 5th Parks Commission meeting in Salem, where the Commission will vote on final approval for the Biota exchange.
The meeting packet is fairly lengthy.
You can download it at this address:
http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/pages/commission.aspx#Current_Agenda_and_Packet
In addition to describing the legal requirements for the exchange and providing draft Final Orders, Parks revised its Vegetation Assessments for Bandon State Natural Area, the Oceanfront Parcel and Grouse Mountain Ranch, all included in the packet. Note that Parks is reiterating that Grouse Mountain Ranch is an acquisition separate from the Biota exchange -- that Biota is providing $2.5 million, which will be used for Grouse Mountain; but should that acquisition fail to be completed, OPRD would have the money available for some other purchase.
There is opportunity to comment on the materials in this packet until approximately February 3rd, as Parks prefers a few days to get comments in order prior to the Commission meeting. Attendees at the Commission meeting may also present verbal or written testimony. Emails should be sent to: [email protected]
Thanks,
Cameron--
