Don’t be fooled: DMSP may be portrayed as a reform of current policy, but it still involves the federal government in manipulating the supply and demand for milk. Not only would families suffer at the cash register, but the companies that make these foods would have a tougher time expanding their operations and
providing more job opportunities. Just as alarming, when the price of food increases, so does the budgetary pressure on government nutrition programs.
While cash-strapped families prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving as best they can this year, it would be a shame if Congress were to pass the DMSP and give them less to be grateful for at future holiday tables. Even if your idea of celebrating the holiday is by ordering a pizza, you’ll still be on the hook for more of your hard-earned money. We can’t let Congress sneak DMSP past consumers and taxpayers – be sure to send Washington a message now before it’s too late!
