Message from a Watchdog in Reedsport:
"Texan Eric Reed, founder and national coordinator of the “Guns Across America” rallies, told WND he’s irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal government in violation of our Second Amendment rights.
“I was trying to figure out why people weren’t being more proactive about this, Reed said. “Then I realized I’m part of the problem.
It takes somebody to stand up and say, ‘Hey, we’re not going to accept this. We’re against it.’
“We want Americans who feel the same way to come out. We want to stand up, be united and get our point across.”
least you will know who the bad ones are!
Rights that exist because they are in our Constitution can be changed, but it is not done by Executive Orders or a simple act of Congress. Change for the Constitution is done by amendment and it requires 2/3 approval of each house and approval by 75% of the States.
That said, the topic of the time seems to be "gun control" or is it really people control? Some of us have been working with Oath Keepers and through that several Oregon Sheriffs have taken a stand for the Constitution.
We do not have a final agenda yet, but our next AFP/TEA Party gathering will include a presentation by Oath Keepers and we will try to have Douglas County Sheriff Hanlin on the program too. He is one of the five Oregon Sheriffs who have stepped up to support the Second Amendment of our Constitution.
We also hope to have Frank Barth on hand to relate his initial Council experience.
The date of the meeting is set for Saturday afternoon, starting at 1:00 PM on February 23rd. The location is not set, but we hope to have that arranged very soon. Mark this date and watch for information that will follow.
