The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation
Hello Watchdogs,
The feds are at it again. A front-group for NOAA, The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, is interested in establishing a sanctuary or marine reserve in Port Orford. The group is forming a new committee to rubberstamp this land & water grab, because the sanctuary will consist of a 3-mile setback of land to complete its boundaries. We have a chance to prevent this from happening.
There will be a meeting in the Port Orford City Hall at 3:30 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013. The tagline for the NMSF is “Protecting, Preserving, & Promoting America's Underwater Treasures”. They are a non-profit NGO with a million dollar budget and they specialize in the acquisition and restoration of private property. The NMSF will do to the ocean what the USFWS has done to our public lands and none of it is good. We already have plans to present a resolution against Marine Reserves to the Board of Commissioners, so we will need all of your support.
