The paper in the attachment tells the story of how Urban Renewal developed in Bandon and the people who saved Coquille Point. The same cast of characters from the Bandon Marsh are in this story.
The City Manager who created the Bandon UR program in 1988 is getting a plaque for his namesake. This program was controversial from the beginning and it is not going to end well for the citizens of Bandon. The longer the city depends on UR funding the more people will eventually have to pay in property taxes.....
Well, at least with a plaque we will always know who to blame for the pending financial disaster ......
