Benghazi: Al Qaeda is Not Dead

See our radio broadcast schedule below (note our new time on KYKN) or head to http://www.ispyradio.com/listen.  All stations stream live!

Our Guest: International Investigative Reporter and Author, John Rosenthal

This week:  Despite the best efforts of the Obama administration to pretend al Qaeda is dead, it most certainly is not. But it is also not the same organization that plotted the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks on September 11, 2001.

So where are they now? What are they now? Tune in and hear how bad decisions--especially regarding the lead up to the Benghazi attack--based on bad information (or politically driven, predetermined policy stances) have led to a far different and perhaps more formidable organization.

Busy on Saturday or Sunday?  Not a problem.  Monday, after the show airs, you can go to our webpage www.ispyradio.com and download it from our “latest show” page.

Our Guests: U.S. Senate Candidate Mark Callahan & Dr. Brian Ray, President of National Home Education Research Institute

This week:  Our guest Mark Callahan discussed his concerns about Common Core and the fallacies of schools under a one-system-fits-all approach.  Listen to find out what happens at a school board meeting when he starts talking about his concerns and the reaction he received from the superintendent.

So what are some solutions? For some parents, it may be removing their children from the public schools. Internationally known researcher and president of National Home Education Research Institute, Dr. Brian Ray sheds light on the myths surrounding homeschooling. Tune in to hear the surprising results of how homeschool students are outperforming institutional students. And don't miss the steps to get started. I-Spy Radio---EPA’s potential new regulations on CO2

Who Needs to Listen to this Week's Show?

Everyone in Portland (or New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, etc.) who push environmental policies, that's who. They need to hear the real damage their policies do and the impact they have on people's lives. Those living in cities who think it's fine to shut down forest lands in rural counties would be like rural areas deciding to shut down all the roads in a city. Find out more, below.

See our radio broadcast schedule below (note our new time on KYKN) or head to http://www.ispyradio.com/listen.  All stations stream live!

Our Guests: Shannon Goessling, Ex Dir of Southeastern Legal Foundation & Josephine County, Sheriff Gil Gilbertson

This week:  In the first half of our show we talk with Shannon Goessling to get her from-the-trenches insights.  Her organization, the Southeastern Legal Foundation, has been fighting the EPA's effort to control carbon dioxide emissions for years and their case, along with five others, is now heading to the Supreme Court. The EPA’s potential new regulations on CO2 represents a massive takeover of industry, which will give them unprecedented control over nearly every business in the US. In fact, the US Chamber of Commerce calls this move “the costliest, farthest-reaching and most intrusive regulatory apparatus in the history of the American administrative state.” So naturally, the mainstream media is ignoring it.

Then, in the second half of our show, we talk with Gil Gilbertson, the Sheriff of Josephine County, about the devastation environmental policies have had on his county's ability to provide basic services--a county where 2/3 of their land has been seized by the federal government. Josephine made national news when a woman called 911 only to be told by the dispatcher there were no officers to send to her aid, and couldn't she just ask her attacker to go away? Listen in to hear what everyone in Portland or LA or NY City and especially Washington DC need to hear, about how they are destroying people's lives.

Busy on Saturday or Sunday?  Not a problem.  Monday, after the show airs, you can go to our webpage www.ispyradio.com and download it from our “archives” page.

See our radio broadcast schedule below or head to http://www.ispyradio.com/listen.  All stations stream live!  Our Guest:  Scientist, Dr. Don Easterbrook

This week: In economics there’s a principle known as “opportunity cost.” Simply put, it’s what else could we have spent our money on? Let’s say you’re the government and you had 70 billion dollars. One choice would be to not collect the money at all and leave it in private industry. That’s enough for 280,000 new jobs for five years.  Or you could have spent it on a 2,000 mile, state of the art, border fence. At 7 billion dollars, that means you could have built not just one but 10 border fences.  Or you could have given it to the Small Business Administration that would increase their measly $810 million budget by a factor of 17.

But that’s not what our government did. Instead from 2008 to 2013, our government spent $70 billion on climate change.  And what did we get?

This week on the I Spy Radio Show we talk with Dr. Don Easterbrook who recently testified before the Washington State Senate about the fraud of global warming. Tune in to hear how he completely destroys the theory that CO2 is our enemy.  Or how within two hours of his devastating, legislative testimony, his own university issued a press release trying to smear him.  And listen to find out what NASA did to falsify their data.

Convention of States: Another Founding Fathers Power-Grab Safeguard

Picture
A Big Welcome to our Two Newest Affiliates!  KLBM 1450AM (La Grande, OR) and KBKR 1490AM (Baker City, OR), Saturday’s 11:00 to noon (PST) and streaming live at http://supertalknews.com.

Head to http://www.ispyradio.com/listen to find our stations and broadcast times (Pacific Standard Times).  All stations stream live! (Programming note for KYKN listeners: I Spy airs this weekend from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. after the Duck’s game.)

Our Guest: Mike Farris, Founder of the Homeschooling Legal Defense Association and Senior Fellow for Citizens for Self-Governance

This week:   All this week, it has been one example after another of exactly what our founding fathers warned against: the inclination of big government to continue to grow, to continue to accumulate power, and, once they have power, they don't give it up willingly.  This week started with the revelation that the Census Bureau lied about the unemployment numbers to help re-elect President Obama.  Then we end the week with Harry Reid throwing out the Senate filibuster rule, which will now allow the senate to appoint radical leftist judges who will safeguard Obamacare against legal challenges.

So how do you get around a stubborn federal government that grabs power and won’t let go?

This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we talk about one remedy: a Convention of States. We talk with Mike Farris, a Constitutional scholar, the founder of the Homeschooling Legal Defense Association, and a Senior Fellow for Citizens for Self-Governance, where he heads the Convention of States Project.

Tune in to learn more about this remedy and the encouraging news that this could actually work—they are already closing in on the numbers needed. And, best of all, it’s built right into the Constitution.

Fake, Fraud, and Followers: How the Environmental Hysteria Took Root

Picture
For times and stations just go to http://www.ispyradio.com/listen to find our stations and broadcast times.  All stations stream live!

Our Guest: Dr. Tim Ball, Climatologist
This week:   According to the UK Daily Mail: “Climate change is on ice: UN scientists reveal the world's barely got any hotter in the last 15 years - but say they are now 95% certain man is to blame for global warming.”  So, to paraphrase, nothing has
happened and yet someone is to blame.

Under the guise of “saving the environment,” we have pushed billions of dollars to environmental causes, and bowed to the will of these well-funded groups to pass thousands of environmental policies.  But it's important to understand that these policies have real-world impacts.

Just yesterday on foxnews.com there was an article about the Rough and Ready Sawmill closing. This was the last sawmill left in Josephine County in southern Oregon. A family-owned business operating for 91 years and three generations and now it’s gone.  Done in by environmental policies.

How is it that entire movements, like the environmental movement, get started?  Especially movements that are based on flawed, faulty, and even faked “scientific studies”?

This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we talk with climatologist, Dr. Tim Ball and we explore how these movements manage to take off. We’ll also talk about the latest UN report from the International Panel on Climate Change. Guess what: the seas are rising-- again!

The De-Greening of the Environmental Movement

Picture
This week KYKN 1430AM will air I Spy at its regular time along with all other stations.  Just go to ttp://www.ispyradio.com/listen to find our stations and  broadcast times.  All stations stream live!

Our Guest: Dr. Tim Ball, Climatologist (This Week Sets the Plate for Our New Series!)

This week:  Starting next week, off and on over the next few months, we will be doing a series of shows with Dr. Tim Ball where we start naming names, discussing the people who have been behind the “green movement” and pushing false agendas while using bad science.  But we won’t stop there because we will also discuss the costs associated with their agendas that has been pushed upon all of us.

Which brings us to this week’s show.  As things would have it, our host Mark Anderson, has come down with a bit of the flu, so we’ll be running a best of I Spy Radio this weekend with an earlier interview with , Dr. Tim Ball.  We call this show “The De-Greening” because if you are at all serious about stopping the environmental movement you must cut off their money supply.

So this week on the I Spy Radio Show we will replay our earlier conversation with Dr. Tim Ball that sets the plate for our new series of shows as we’re reminded of the new developments in “global warming”, how all of this is
starting to unravel, and if we don’t stop the movement, what their next target is going to be.

Slaying the Monster: The EPA

I Spy can now be heard on two different stations at different times!

Our Guests:
Physicist, Dr. Gordon Fulks, & Shannon Goessling, Exec. Dir. of Southeastern Legal Foundation

This week: There are a few essentials to any good story: a hero who won’t give up; a villain or  obstacle that seems impossible to overcome; and (if you’re writing in the classical vein) a wise mentor who gives the hero the weapon they need to slay the villain.  That’s just the case this week on the I Spy Radio Show. The EPA is a huge, immovable monster that is slowly devouring businesses. If it’s not stopped, it will shut down power plants all across the country and prevent America from using one of its most abundant resources—coal.

Along comes Shannon Goessling, the Executive Director and Chief Legal Counsel for the Southeastern Legal Foundation, which took up the fight against the EPA. As with any good novel, they lost their previous round at the D.C. Appellate Court, but now they’re taking their case to the Supreme Court.  To aid them in their quest, Dr. Gordon Fulks and a group of highly qualified scientists have filed a brief with the court that challenges the underlying science of global warming, which could undo the EPA’s entire case. Incredibly, challenging the EPA’s bad science at the Supreme Court has never been done before.

Tune in to hear their inspiring story as they refuse to go quietly, and what it takes to go up against the monster.

Our Guest:  Shannon Goessling, Executive Director of Southeastern Legal Foundation

This week: Our host, Mark Anderson, is just coming off of a two-week residency program and he’s
anxious to get back into the swing of things in the real world.  But that also  means that this weekend on the I Spy Radio Show, we need to run a best of I Spy. We'll rebroadcast our show with Shannon Goessling. She is the Chief Legal Counsel for the Southeastern Legal Foundation, which argued last year before the 12th District Court against the EPA’s overreach on Carbon Dioxide.

If you heard our show last week with Dr. Easterbrook, you know the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is almost zero and could not possibly cause global warming. As he said, if you double zero you still have zero.  So why is the EPA targeting CO2? If you’ve ever suspected that Obama is anti-business, and wants to control all
aspects of our life (think IRS and monitoring phone records), you need to listen to this week’s show. You’ll get a peek behind the scenes at his administration’s contempt for industry.

All of this is in preparation for our show on the weekend of June 22nd.  We’ll talk again with Shannon who is taking their lawsuit to the Supreme Court.  And with Dr. Gordon Fulks, who along with other scientists have filed a brief with the Supreme Court over the EPA’s bad science.

Our Guests: Rob Taylor, Coos County Activist & Randal O’Toole, Senior Fellow from Cato Institute

This week:  Imagine being able to give yourself a credit card. All you have to do is just get one of those 3-D printers and print one right out.  Better yet, you get to appoint yourself as your own banker.  Not only that, you convince your friends and neighbors that whenever they get a salary increase, their raise gets put into your special credit card account.

But it gets even better! Any debt you run up on this card won’t affect your overall credit score. Your credit cards from other banks maxed out? No problem! Just transfer the debts from those cards to your special card.

All this sound too good to be true? Apparently, you haven’t heard of Urban Renewal Agencies. Because this is essentially how they’re funded—and why schools and police are always running short of funds.

This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we’re talking land use abuse. We talk with Rob Taylor out of Coos County, an activist exposing Urban Renewal Agencies rather interesting funding models. Our second guest, Randal O’Toole, a Senior Fellow from Cato Institute, discusses why government planning creates more problems than it fixes.  We also discuss the Columbia River Crossing, a clear case of land-use abuse from Oregon and Washington, and other land-use projects around the country that do little good except to fund advocacy groups.

And just wait until you hear what government built because it was so expensive.  That's this weekend on I Spy Radio.

Have you heard our very popular “I Spy Minute,” aired weekdays at 10:00 a.m. during KYKN’s peak listenership?  Our Guests: U.S. Congressman Tom McClintock & Economist Dr. Eric Fruits, co-author of ALEC’s Center for State Fiscal Reform Report: "Tax Myths Debunked"

This week:  Winston Churchill once said, “We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.”  While President Obama isn’t talking about taxing our way to prosperity anymore, he does want to spend our way to prosperity.  In other words, he’s stopped standing in a bucket while trying to lift it. Now he’s pouring water from one bucket into another and claiming we have more water.

Our Guest: Daniel Re, Attorney and Jonathan Williams, Director of Tax and Fiscal Policy for ALEC

This week: If you’ve listened to the I Spy Radio Show, you probably already know that our host, Mark Anderson, has an MBA—that’s a masters in business administration—and that he’s also in the process of picking up his Doctorate in Business Administration.  However, when it comes to PERS (Public Employee Retirement System), you don't need a doctor's degree to recognize when things seem a little fuzzy.

For example: unless you work for Congress, you intuitively know that completely fictional numbers with no basis in reality, when they're used in accounting, are bad.  But what most people don't know is that this practice routinely occurs in government and that fictional numbers are what currently passes as "funding" for PERS. And not just here in Oregon but in states budgets across the United States.

Tune in to the I Spy Radio Show to hear just how bad off PERS really is — our guest Daniel Re will walk us through a chronology, step by awful step, of how it got this way.  Then Jonathan Williams of ALEC tells us about the national situation and just how bad the situation really is but he also gives us solutions.  Solutions that, if used, could bring a little reality to state budgets and put them on the track to recovery.

Our Guest: Patrick Gleason, Director of State Affairs for Americans for Tax Reform & Patti Milne, Marion County Commissioner

This week: As any businessman can tell you, one of the worst things you can do is rush a product to market without fully testing and researching a new product or service. Things have a tendency to break and fall apart that way.  Obamacare is now the law and being instituted in many states, including Oregon, starting with
Health Insurance Exchanges.  And Obamacare, along with its evil twin the CCOs (Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organizations) were rushed bills because health care was in a “crisis.”

Well, that usually means they didn’t think things through carefully—and that’s where mistakes are made. This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we talk with Patrick Gleason Director of State Affairs for Americans for Tax Reform who gives us a by-the-state review of how Obamacare is impacting states budgets.  Then in
our second half, Marion County Commissioner, Patti Milne updates us with what has been happening in Oregon, which is the national Petri dish for Obamacare.

And be sure to listen in as we uncover some holes in their armor as free market systems come head to head with socialized medicine.

Finding Our Way Out

I Spy can now be heard on two different stations at different times! We're proud
and excited to be joining the line up on KAJO in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Listen on Saturday: 11:00 to noon (Pacific time) on KYKN (1430-AM) or, if you’re outside of the Salem, OR, listening area, go to www.kykn.com and hit the "listen live"  button.

Our Guest: Constitutional Scholar, Utah Rep. Ken Ivory and President of American Lands Council

This week: In Greek mythology the legendary architect, Daedalus, built the labyrinth, an incredibly complex maze of twisting passageways to house the Minotaur—a horrible monster that was half-man, half bull.  The Greek Hero, Theseus, decided he would kill the Minotaur and put an end to human sacrifices. Except even if he did find and kill the Minotaur, he knew the Labyrinth was so complex he would be lost forever. But the King’s daughter had fallen in love with Theseus and gave him a spool of thread that he unraveled as he went, so he could find his way back.

After  this election, conservatives may feel like we’re lost in our own labyrinth. Here  in Oregon, we lost ground by losing our tie in the house and every statewide  office. It feels hopeless.

But  like Theseus, we have a string to follow, and it reaches all the way back to  1787. It’s our Constitution.  This week on the I Spy Radio Show, we talk with  Representative Ken Ivory of Utah, a constitutional scholar and states right  advocate. And, unlike Daedalus, the architects of our Constitution  gave us a way out. We still have real power and it's up to us to use it--if we  know how.

Join us tomorrow for the I Spy Radio Show, from 11:00 to noon., or 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Coast Time and get a little more intelligence on big government.
