Update to the AFP Lobbying Training
From:  CG912Project Members and friends,

Here is an opportunity to receive training working with the Oregon Legislature presented by AFP.

Training on lobbying the legislature

A four hour training session will be hosted by
Americans for Prosperity - Marion & Polk County

Saturday, January 19, 2013
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church

  Guest speakers/trainers scheduled are:
State Senator Brian Boquist
State Representative Jim Thompson
State Representative Vicki Berger
  Polk County Commissioner Craig Pope

Two 1½ hour sessions are planned:

Senator Boquist and Commissioner Pope will discuss visiting the offices of
elected officials - how to approach them and engage them in conversations or
“lobby” the legislature.

Representatives Thompson and Berger will teach us how to effectively testify
  at committee hearings.

We will split into two groups and switch training sessions after the lunch
break. Lunch at 11:30 will be provided by AFP.

This class is intended to work hand-in-hand with the Oregon Citizen Lobby
training that Karla Edwards has scheduled to begin on 1/21/13.

Please reply to [email protected] if you plan on attending this AFP
training event. Space is limited, sign-up early. Directions to Mt. Olive
Church will be provided one week before the class.
