The Tea Party---You Are Keeping The Pressure On Holder‏

7/13/2012

Comments

This if from the group www.TheTeaParty.net
Dear Patriot,

It might seem that our efforts to hold Attorney General Eric Holder accountable have gotten mixed into the shuffle with Obamacare and the virtual march that we haven't given proper credit to all of you for your accomplishment on getting AG Holder held in Criminal Contempt of Congress.

For months we have been occasionally asking you to send letters to only your individual representatives in Congress and you responded in a HUGE way!  Together we sent more than 491,000 letters to Washington!  Our sample letter read:

US Attorney General Eric Holder has continuously stonewalled the Congressional investigation into the "Fast and Furious" scandal by withholding evidence and documents requested by Congressional committees. As your constituent, I demand that you hold the AG accountable and hold the AG in contempt of Congress.
We as Americans and voters deserve the truth.

An  independent special prosecutor must be appointed to investigate and prosecute this crime.  As the nations top
law-enforcement officer if he is convicted of perjury he should face the absolute maximum penalty.

The Republicans and even some Democrats in the House of Representatives listened to your demands and now
you've probably heard that the Department Of Justice refuses to enforce the CRIMINAL CONTEMPT of Congress.  Which means that it is up to us to make sure that the House understands that a toothless criminal contempt isn't enough!

We have re-written the petition with new demands!  Please take a few moments and send a new batch of letters to your elected  representatives so that all those responsible for the death of Brian Terry are held accountable.

Dear Patriot,
Freedom isn't free - it takes blood and sweat and tears to defend the God-given rights so many take for granted.  On
Memorial Day, a grateful nation thanked our veterans and heroes who have sacrificed so much to protect our liberties.

Now we vow to do our part to defend them on the home front. We won't surrender that which was purchased so dearly, and we won't let our liberties be stolen without a fight!

Sincerely,

    Johnson for President

    6/6/2012

    Comments

This article written by Sylvia Bokor came to me from a friend in NM where Gary Johnson was governor.  I am going to be voting for Johnson for President and wanted to share these viewpoints.
    Rob

If nothing else, please forward this on to someone who can use this information.

    Sylvia Bokor [
    http://sylviabokorcomments.blogspot.com/ ]  wrote:
The word "accomplishment" refers to an action that results in a value, offers a benefit or enhances the enjoyment of life.  It is an accomplishment to learn to play the piano. It is an accomplishment to be able to provide for one's family by earning a  living. It is an accomplishment to create a lovely  garden.

It is not an accomplishment to take from those who earn their living and give it to others. That's called
looting.  It is not an accomplishment to force men to waste their time filling out paperwork, or to force them to take actions over  which they have no say and with which they do not agree. That's called enslavement.

It is not an accomplishment to pretend you have done work you have not done, to make false statements, or to make claims to property that is not yours. That's dishonest. It's called cheating.

If the Left's intention in publicizing Obama's "accomplishments" was to show how wonderful Obama is, they
miscalculated. The lists actually show the extent to which his Administration has violated individual
rights, throttled businesses,  straight-jacket banking operations, interfered with overseas investment,
intruded upon private enterprise compensation practices, established offices of soviet-style czars to
harass and control hundreds of business activities.

In short, they constitute a clear picture of what  the Left is after: statism.

Statism is the most corrupt of political ideas because it holds that might makes right, that men are
slaves born only to serve and enrich their rulers, without benefit to themselves, without recognition of
their rights, without recourse to law  or justice.

The Left's ideas are destructive. But come November  they could win if those who can fight them and should fight them refuse to fight them.

If you are in a leadership position in a political party and you withhold money from deserving candidates who
have major grassroots support, who champion de-regulation, free markets  and individual rights, you are refusing to fight the Left's destructive ideas, statism.

If you are a voter that deplores Obama's policies but do nothing to support those who oppose those policies, you
are refusing to fight the Left's destructive ideas, statism.

    I  agree one hundred percent.

So I take it you'll be supporting the true Tea Party candidates in the general election:
Gary Johnson for  president -- http://garyjohnson2012.com

    Jon Barrie for U.S. Senate -- http://jonbarrieforsenate.com

Anything else really is a wasted vote.

I've been "Tea Party" since 1996, when I started publicly stumping for individual rights, Constitutionally-limited
government and fiscal restraint in the public sector.

Gary Johnson has been "Tea Party" in the same sense since 1994.

Johnson spent eight  years as Governor of New Mexico supporting "Tea Party" values -- he kept the
state in the black for all of that time, while managing to get re-elected in  a state that's 2-to-1 of the opposing party.

During those eight  years, Johnson never treated gun owners (or any other group, that I could tell) as a political soccer ball, to be kicked around from the bully pulpit  at a whim.

There's a reason they call it the /bully/ pulpit.

This stands in stark contrast to any other of the candidates for the presidency that I've seen. Most of them like to rhetorically stomp  on one group or another for political brownie points. Not so with
Gary Johnson. None are as . . . /presidential/ as Johnson.

As for the other "big two" -- both are anti-gun-owner bigots at heart, and the one who was a governor signed off on a plan to take over health care that was  plagiarized on the national scene by the staff of the one who was a  senator.

The big differences between them don't seem to be of philosophy  or ethics, but of severity and priorities.

Concerning the U.S. Senate  seat from New Mexico that's up for grabs --New Mexicans can play eenie-weenie-mighty-mo with the two socialist candidates who won the primaries last night. Or they can vote "Tea
    Party" by supporting Jon Barrie.

I've never met Jon, but I'd like to. He's campaigning as a Christian conservative, yet was recommended to me by a long-time libertarian who's an enthusiastic pot smoker and atheist.

Jon appears  to be running his campaign the way a campaign should be run -- by volunteers on a shoestring budget. Thus he needs all the help we can give him.

To start, Jon needs signatures on nominating petitions to get on the ballot. For those inclined to help, he's got the paperwork all  ready to go on his site --

That will be all for now. Thank you for reading.

TEA PARTY THOUGHTS ON THE PRIMARY in Josephine County

    5/5/2012

    Comments

TEA PARTY THOUGHTS ON THE PRIMARY

As a veteran tea party activist, I remain committed to what I perceive as the core
    principles of the “tea party” movement.  Those are: sound money; limited government;
    and free enterprise.

With those values in mind, I would offer the following considerations regarding the
present primary election.  Take them simply as suggestions.

We have two commissioner openings.  One for the seat presently held by Reedy and one
for the seat being vacated by Haugen.  We have two tax levy propositions.  We have a
    bunch of openings for judges.

    The Reedy Seat

The key consideration here is that Cheryl Walker is the front runner and favorite of
the Courier.  She is an established and veteran progressive in terms of political
philosophy with an agenda.  What I call a Dave Toler in pantyhose.  She can be counted
on to support rather than oppose the growth of government.  I would view her as the one
    to beat at all costs.

Beating her will be difficult.  She has an accomplished political machine and the full
    support of the enviro community.

Don Moore talks the conservative talk but does not usually vote that way.  He has name
recognition and experience as the mayor of Cave Junction.  He also has a campaign
manager straight from the New York ward boss school of politics which is whole
different can of worms.  I cannot recommend them.

I have found Reedy competent and reliable to deal with but I doubt he has the
horsepower to defeat Walker.  Much as I like him, winability has to be a consideration.

Bob Just has name recognition and appears to be mounting a serious campaign.  He is a
genuine anomaly: a tea party Democrat.  I think that political persuasion needs to be
    encouraged.

    The Haugen Seat

Here again, the front runner Keith Heck is a darling of the Courier.  He has lots of
favor because he has “gospel” engraved as his middle name.  But he has no appreciation
of tea party values.  At the latest budget hearing, while everyone is concerned about
county funding, he favored COLA increases for our elected county officers.  Will he be
the one to confront our public service unions?

There is a huge field of challengers including a number of conservatives of various
stripes.  Unfortunately that simply makes the race that much easier for Heck.  There
are three excellent tea partiers: Bill Ertel, Chris Ferguson, and Dan De Young.  In
terms of winability, there is not much to distinguish them except that DeYoung has
proven experience on the GP City Council.  I had to go for him and hope that he can
    make a runoff with Heck.

    The Tax Levy

This is a “wobbler.”  There are excellent arguments for and against this proposal.  On
the pro side, I believe that if one values independence and local sovereignty, one
must be willing to pay one’s own freight.  If the county is going to ride on a ticket
supplied by Salem or Washington, one must be willing to sit where they tell you.  On
the other hand, the imposition of this additional burden will force some local
enterprises out of business - specifically those located within the City.  Our economy
can’t really afford that.  At the same time, local government is not listening to the
need to curtail local government expansion apart from law enforcement. Law enforcement
is not a separate funding issue.  It is part of the general fund as are several other
departments. The gambit to establish law enforcement as a separate obligation is simply
a maneuver to insulate the rest of the structure from what cuts must fall with a failure
in funding.  I don’t think that is honest.

Again, this is a contrived crisis.  I was present when Toler and Ellis chose to expend
our then budget surplus to “raise our sheriff services to the level at which they ought to
be” rather than continue the status quo and reserve the excess for the funding crisis we
all knew was coming.  I know this is contrary to what the sheriff claims in his Sneak
Preview editorial, but I was there and that was the decision.

A failure of the levy will induce some awful consequences, but sometimes the only way you
can get a mule’s attention is to hit him between the eyes with a two by four.

    The Soil and Water Levy

If one has ever attended one of the District meetings, one knows what a joke this
organization is.  I think the only person involved with half a brain is Larry Ford and he
can’t do much by himself.  Can anyone explain what we lose if this levy doesn’t pass?  It
    is a no-brainer.

    The Judges

I have had to deal with Judge Sercombe - one of the candidates for the Court of Appeals
    - in the course of the Measure 37- Measure 49 litigations.  I found him quite an activist
on the issue.  He managed to get in on almost every appeal dealing with the subject.  He
is decidedly against private property rights - especially in the context of conflict with
state regulation.  Those U.S. Supreme Court cases to the contrary, he has described as
“obsolete.”  Vote for anybody but Sercombe.

Locally, I have yet to get a good decision out of Wolke but he is infinitely better than
    his challenger Victory Walker.

I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYBODY.  MAKE UP YOUR OWN MINDS.  THESE ARE SIMPLY MY SUGGESTIONS
    BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE.

tea party demonstration at the JoCo

    4/14/2012

    Comments

tea party demonstration at the JoCo Courthouse

Monday, 4/16, JoCo Courthouse on 6th Street
    4:00 - 6:30 pm

Four years ago some 1200 of us gathered in a tea party demonstration at the JoCo Courthouse and protested against the direction the country was headed.  Inside that courthouse local government heard us and shuddered.  We sent some 50,000 protestors to Washington and the reaction was completely different. Obama yawned. Pelosi derided us as “astro turf.”  We flexed our muscle and in 2010 made our presence known in the House of Representatives and fired Pelosi.  This year we need to finish the job and fire Obama and Reid.

At that first tea party the word I constantly heard went something like this.  “I have never been a part of a protest before.  But this is too important.  I had to join in.”  Do you recall hearing that?

Nothing has changed.  This year is more important than ever.  This will be the most important election in our history.  We are at a crossroads.  We will either continue down the road to one-world communism or we will re-establish ourselves as free and independent individuals operating in a free market filled with individual opportunity.

This isn’t about us.  It is about the legacy we will leave our grandchildren.

This election can be won.  Our voice can be heard.  Let us show you how.  Be there Monday.  For our country, for our future and for our grandchildren.

    Jack
